Sonu Nigam’s tweet on being tortuously woken by Azaan every day stirred up much controversy. Although his statement was backed by innumerable people, criticisms were also on roll in various media channels. In fact, one Kolkata-based Muslim cleric even issued a fatwa against Sonu Nigam, announcing a reward of Rs 10 lakh to anybody who tonsured the Bollywood singer and garland him with old shoes.
Although Nigam himself gave a befitting reply to this statement by shaving off his own head, thereby standing tall by his statement against the use of loudspeakers in religious places, singer Abhijit Bhattacharya wasn’t far behind in ripping the Maulana off with his words.
